Just in the past month SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas has had 3 sizable commercial water losses. All three of which were as a result of the sprinkler system going off and running for a bit too long. This highlights the importance that commercial buildings should have a well-organized ERP in place. These water losses have had damage on multiple stories of the building. In our experience the water damaged can lessen as you reach the ground level but these jobs had substantial damage and need for mitigation across all affected areas. Commercial water losses, if not handled properly, can cause a lot of waisted time which will increase the time spent during a water loss. SERVPRO has 50 plus years of knowledge to help educate and train our staff properly in these situations. SERVPRO knows that every minute lost means money lost for the business and commercial building. In this photo is shown an air mover being used to help dry the wall directly behind the cabinet. Because SERVPRO was on site within 30 minutes and immediately removed all toe kicks, SERVPRO was able to control further damages and prevent removal of this cabinet. SERVPRO’s speed and knowledge of understanding what to do helped save most all of the cabinets on this property. The project was done in 4 days and the owner was very impressed.

If you own a commercial building or even if you run a business out of a commercial property you understand and know that money is lost every waisted minute or hour your business is stopped during a disaster. SERVPRO knows the importance of getting a commercial building back up and running. We know that money is lost every second, hour and day that a commercial building is out of service. SERVPRO has been in the water, fire and mold clean-up and remediation business for more than 50 years. SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas recognizes the different types of materials used in most every commercial property, for instance, in this photo is shown a picture of SERVPRO technicians removing glue down carpet. The carpet was under 4-6” of water for the entire weekend and needed to be removed, SERVPRO knows that once glue down carpet begins to dry the glue adhesive becomes strong making the carpet almost impossible to remove. SERVPRO contacted the insurance and after explanation removed the carpet immediately. The building owner did not know about this and was so happy that SERVPRO was able to remove the carpet immediately which helped speed up the project.

SERVPRO has the equipment to handle any size of water loss. SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas has been in the area for over 15 years and has the training of 50+ years to help educate our staff so when a water or fire loss occur SERVPRO technicians are prepared.

In this photo is a commercial water loss, the cause of loss was due to a break in with a broken pipe. The broken pipe flooded the office areas with 2” of standing water and 25% of the warehouse. SERVPRO was called out and within 30 minutes crews were ready. Our Crew Chief noticed that the building did not have enough power to supply all the equipment needed. A spider box, as shown in the photo, is used to help supply sufficient power which helped SERVPRO add the right amount of equipment and dry the structure in a timely manner.

The glue down carpet was already damaged and needed to be removed. SERVPRO removed the flooring immediately because we know if it waited 1 or 2 more days it would be nearly impossible to remove and extend the project out. In this situation janitors over the weekend clogged and overflowed the toilet on their way out.  In the morning the business manager opened the door to a business full of water.  The property manager called out SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas to extract the water and dry down the property.  SERVPRO was able to dry down the property in 4 days and reconstruction was started immediately after.  The property manager and business owner were impressed with the speed, thoroughness and professionalism SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas portrayed while on site.

No business owner likes getting a call concerning water damage.  Water damage is very common here in Las Vegas and if not handled properly mold can begin to form and spread throughout.  Mold plus a business is never a good mix.  SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas knows that time and speed is everything we have the equipment and knowledge to handle any size of water damage.  In this situation a sprinkler went off on the second floor causing damage to the business and the other unit attach.  SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas was called out and on site within 20 minutes.  SERVPRO set equipment and began getting a game plan immediately and within 4 days SERVPRO had the damaged walls opened and the structure dried down and ready for build back.

This is a dehumidifier, its smaller in size but has the power to handle any size of loss. Its easy to carry and can fit in smaller areas.

Las Vegas has lots of visitors throughout the year.  This means that time and speed is everything when it comes to a commercial water loss at our Vegas hotels.  SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas has the knowledge, equipment and skill to handle any size of loss regardless of the water source.  In this situation SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas was called out because the hotel couldn’t handle the size.  SERVPRO was out on site extracting water and starting the dry down immediately.  Because we know how the hotels are built here in the Vegas area we were able to cut the needed areas and save the rest.  The GM was impressed with our knowledge concerning the matter and even called us out the next week for another smaller leak.

When temperatures get cold pipes in Vegas can still burst and when they do water can go everywhere. In this situation water was standing about 2 inches throughout this commercial building located in Las Vegas.  SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas was on site within 20 minutes and was extracting water, setting equipment and taking documentation for insurance.  Sometimes we need to use special equipment to help dry down and save the insurance company/owner money on build back and help prevent secondary damages. For this job we were able to set a desiccant to help speed the dry down in this warehouse.  Because of this special equipment SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas was able to help the business get up and running with minimum demo.  They were very thrilled with the speed and persistence while on site.

If water damage occurs it is best to have professionals take care of it.  If it's small then it is best to get an estimate and scope of work by an estimator who has the right equipment to find out how much water is in a material as well as how far its spread.  When water isn't handles correctly mold can form and when that same area gets affected again mold can spread and become big and spores can cause mold to find other locations and a small leak could turn into a big mold remediation.  In this commercial building that just happened.  The owners sent out professionals to remediate the mold.  SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas was able to treat the mold properly and make the business a safe working environment again.

This flooded unit was caused by below freezing temperatures

In Las Vegas when we experience below freezing temperatures pipes can burst causing massive amounts of water to flow everywhere.  In this commercial water loss a heating system failed causing sprinkler pipes above to burst when the temperatures dropped below freezing.  Water was about two inches throughout and SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas was on site within a half hour extracting and cleaning up the mess. Because of the type of loss all wet areas/materials needed to be cut to prevent secondary damages.  With over 3000 square feet of damages SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas was in and out within 5 days.

A slow water leak caused a small water damage to turn into a much needed mold remediation in Las Vegas. This photo shows proper containment set up in the kitchen which allowed SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas to remediate the job safely for our technicians and for the employees working in the surrounding areas. SERVPRO of Southwest Las Vegas was able to work around the schedule of the employees and still finish the project within a week.  Build back was done immediately after and the owner was pleased with the work done.
